Mission

Foster, promote and develop responsible and efficient local government and to encourage young people in every community in Cook County to actively participate in civic political activities and give support to candidates for public office who have been approved by the Regular Democratic Organization.

Organizational Structure

The CCYD is governed by the Executive Board, encompassing 10 members from all across the county. In order to serve on the board, an individual must be between the ages of 18 and 35, obtain a charter letter from their respective Democratic Commiteeperson, and duly elected by their peers at the Young Democrats of Cook County Convention held every two years. Board members serve two year terms and no member can serve in the same role for more than two consecutive terms.
